Travel 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle for an unforgettable arctic adventure. This magical trip includes dog sledding, a trip to the Wilderness Lodge for a sauna, dinner under the Northern Lights and a night's stay in the Ice Hotel where you can relax in the ice bar before spending the night in a bedroom made of ice!

The Experience
Your first day starts with a welcome drink with your guide before you meet your dog team. After lunch you'll be kitted out in a snowsuit and furs for instruction on sled driving, then you'll head out with your team to the Wilderness Lodge, next to a huge frozen lake, for a sauna and dinner under the Northern Lights. You'll spend day two sledding across the frozen Arctic to the Ice Hotel, where you can relax in the Ice Bar before spending the night in a bedroom made of ice. A snowmobile tour, meals, accommodation and equipment are all included. Flights to and from Kiruna are not included.

Vital information
Minimum age is 8. Under 16s must be accompanied by a participating adult. You must be reasonably physically fit.

The weather
It's very cold! Conditions just north of the Arctic Circle in March and April are generally stable, however extreme conditions may force certain parts of the experience to be substituted.

Session length
Your trip is for three days and two nights. Please ensure that you are able to book flights for the dates you have chosen.

Numbers
The experience is based on two people sharing. Some parts of this experience will involve large groups, others intimate groups of two.

Dress code
Winter clothing, including a snowsuit, fur hats, gloves and boots, will be provided. A full list of what to bring (including thermals, thin gloves for under your mitts and thick socks) will be sent to you in advance of departure.

Availability
Trips generally run between late February and March. During 2006, dates are confirmed as 17 February, 24 and 31 March.

Other information
Facilities at Wilderness Lodge are comfortable but basic, to reduce environmental impact (e.g. no baths or showers, and compost toilets). You will need to obtain appropriate travel insurance. Minimum booking and cancellation period is 90 days.
